The Partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn is upon us! In the United States, the eclipse begins tomorrow evening at 5:34pm (CST) and the maximum eclipse will be at 7:41pm (CST). Use this time auspiciously!
I've written an in-depth analysis of this eclipse from the perspectives of Vedic astrology and the Cards of Truth. (I have not written about the total lunar eclipse of January 21 yet, so that will be a separate post as the time draws closer.)
In order to understand eclipses, we have to look at the larger pattern within which they appear, which is the Saros Series. Tomorrow's eclipse belongs to Saros Series 122, so in this essay, I've described the patterns of Saros Series 122 first, and then proceeded to describe the patterns of this particular eclipse. I have also included a brief section on the sphere of influence, so you can see how significant this eclipse is for you depending on your chart.
I recommend reading my earlier essay, "The Yoga of Eclipses" as a precursor to this essay, because it explores the meaning and purpose of eclipses (link below).
If you want to discover more about what this eclipse (and the upcoming total lunar eclipse of Jan 21) means for you, then contact me for a reading. I will be offering special eclipse readings only for the month of January!
Excerpt: The first eclipse of 2019 is a partial solar eclipse, a south node eclipse in the sign of Capricorn. In the United States, the eclipse begins on January 5, 2019 at 11:34pm (UTC) with the maximum eclipse at 1:41am (UTC) on January 6. This eclipse will not be visible from the United States, but it will be visible in the north Pacific and northeast Asia. It is said that an eclipse primarily affects the places that are within its "shadow". While it is true that there is a unique potency to the eclipse energy in the places that it shadows, eclipses equally affect individuals regardless of location if it influences significant self-factors, signs, or houses in the chart. Therefore, we should consider eclipses as having quite a broad (collective and personal) influence. What exactly will that influence be for the January 5-6 eclipse?
